The Hyundai HX500L is purpose-built for high-production environments, with an operating weight of 49,900 kg that delivers the stability required for large excavation projects.

At the heart of the machine is a reliable Cummins X12 engine, producing a net power of 246 kW (330 HP). This power ensures strong, consistent torque throughout intensive digging cycles, supporting high productivity during continuous operation.

Paired with a large 3.20 m³ heavy-duty bucket, the HX500L is capable of shifting substantial volumes of material with each pass, helping operators maximise output on large-scale sites.

This performance combination makes the machine particularly well suited to demanding applications where strong breakout forces are essential to efficiently penetrate dense or compacted ground conditions. Typical applications are quarry loading, mining operations, large earthmoving projects, bulk excavation and heavy infrastructure construction.

Structural Integrity for Demanding Environments

The HX Series is built to withstand the mechanical stresses of continuous heavy loading through a reinforced upper and lower structure. A durable cooling module improves airflow and heat dissipation, preventing the engine and hydraulics from overheating during long shifts in high-ambient temperature environments.

To protect the machine’s longevity, the design includes high-pressure hoses with improved heat and pressure resistance and reinforced pins and bushings to reduce component wear in abrasive conditions.

These durability features work together to minimize unplanned downtime, giving you a more reliable asset that stays productive on the job site. The HX500L has both Roll-Over Protection Structures (ROPS) and Falling Object Protection Structure (FOPS).

Intelligent Hydraulics and Efficiency Management

  • Intelligent Power Control (IPC): This system regulates pump flow according to the operator’s lever input during excavation. By matching hydraulic oil delivery to the actual workload, it minimizes unnecessary energy use and contributes to lower fuel consumption.
  • Eco Gauge Monitoring: A digital indicator on the monitor provides real-time insight into fuel efficiency and engine torque. By displaying fuel usage across different working conditions, it helps operators adapt their operating habits to reduce daily fuel costs.
  • Variable Power Management: Operators can switch between three working modes—Power, Standard, and Economy—to align engine performance with the task. This flexibility allows for maximum output during demanding applications or improved fuel efficiency during lighter-duty work.
  • Cycle Time Optimization: The advanced hydraulic system, equipped with dual variable displacement axial piston pumps, delivers faster response and smoother operation. This improves cycle times, enabling quicker truck loading and increased productivity across the job site.

Operator-Focused Comfort and Safety

The HX500L features a high-visibility cabin designed to help operators stay focused and productive during extended, multi-shift operations.

The Automatic Swing Brake secures the upper structure whenever the control lever returns to neutral, preventing unwanted “swing drift.” At the same time, the Boom and Arm Holding System uses dedicated hydraulic valves to maintain cylinder pressure, preventing the attachment from creeping or lowering unexpectedly during pauses in work.

Inside the cab, an interactive 8-inch touchscreen functions as the central control hub, giving operators the ability to adjust climate settings and monitor machine diagnostics through a single, easy-to-use interface.
